ATV Trail Riding Tips
Many ATV owners enjoy trail riding for its thrilling adventure. Plus, you can predict how long a ride will take and how fast you can go because the road is already established! But trail riding isn’t something you can just up and do without any preparation. You’ll still want to pack the right items and take the right approach when embarking on a quad trail ride. Read on to discover some key four-wheeler trail riding tips.
Be Prepared for ATV Maintenance
It’s a good idea to bring a kit with the essential tools you need in case you run into trouble. Bring a wrench that fits your ATV’s bolt size, a knife, fire starter, flashlight, water, snacks, a GPS, an extra gas can and a flat tire patch kit. Riding trails in the middle of nowhere can be unpredictable and it's best to be prepared for the worst.
Share the Path
Practice caution when passing someone on your four-wheeler and try to signal your approach if you can. If everyone gives each other space and is respectful of each other, it will create a much easier and less stressful time on the trails.
Look Out for Obstacles
When you’re cruising down the trails on your ATV, be sure to keep an eye out for protruding rocks or boulders. If you hit one of these with one tire going too fast, there’s a risk of flipping your quad and getting injured.
